Report PurposeGuide private-label sellers (operations/marketing/product) and engineers (hardware/software/reliability) to improve existing products and define next-generation products

1. Executive Summary

Both products sit at 4.4 on the platform, but taken apart, 251 1-2★ reviews show they fail in completely different places.

Csasan: 64 of 186 negative reviews (34%) point at the same thing — Other issues. “écouteurs 100% des bons sons 👌”

Soundcore: 19 of 65 negative reviews (29%) point at the same thing — Sound quality. “sound using teams is terrible. do not recommend for office use.”

The platform score hides this. At 4.4 vs 4.4, one should spend its budget on Other, the other on Sound — spend it the wrong way and the next generation stays at 4.4.

Csasan complaint concentration
64/186 point at "Other"

Soundcore complaint concentration
19/65 point at "Sound"
1. Csasan's complaints concentrate on "Other" (64 reviews, 34%), while Soundcore concentrates on "Sound" (19 reviews, 29%)

"Other" shows up in only 12 of Soundcore's complaints (18%), and "Sound" in only 36 of Csasan's (19%). The two products fail at different links — the improvement budget should not go to the same place.

2. "Other" is a return-level problem, not a grumble

Only 0 of Csasan's 4 3★ reviews mention "Other" (keyword tagging, auxiliary) — mid-rating users have not been burned by it yet; once they are, they go straight to 1-2★. Fixing this moves the rating more than polishing what is already "okay".

3. The expectation gap: 8 complaints are angry not at the product itself but at "what was promised vs what arrived"

False-advertising / not-as-described wording appears in 1-2★ reviews (Csasan 5, Soundcore 3). This is the cheapest fix of all — revising the copy alone can move the needle. Typical wording: "and last but not least, the sound is good, but it's not excellent (as advertised)."

Soundcore Sound + Other 31 3.92 → 4.12 16% → 8.4%
Method: these negative reviews are removed and the rest of the sample is re-averaged (equivalent to re-scoring them at the mean of the remaining sample). This is the theoretical upper bound if the problem is fully solved, not a promise; actual improvement depends on fix rate and new-review velocity. Negative rates use this sample as the base.
Data boundaries (read first, or the numbers above will be misread)
1. The gap between the platform 4.4 rating and the recalculated 2.84 comes from the sampling strategy — the sample over-samples negative and recent reviews, so its complaint density is higher than the platform overall; all percentages use this sample as the base and do not represent the platform-wide negative rate.
2. 83% of the sample falls in the most recent six months (recent-first scraping), so no time-trend conclusions are drawn.
3. 1-2★ reviews are grouped by physical cause via a rule engine (keyword rules, traceable to individual review IDs); keyword tagging of 3★ reviews is auxiliary only and excluded from conclusions.

Typical User Quote (Product A):

bueno este producto no es bueno , quizás vino con falla porque se queda sin bateria ni bien lo querés usar mientras ratio enchilada toda la noche . dice bateria baja y recién lo desconecte del cargador . lo quiero devolver . además lo compré porque decía traductor en tiempo real y no es así .

Typical User Quote (Product A):

these are just earbuds they do not translate anything do not buy

Typical User Quote (Product B):

pia for iphone connection... they just fall out of my ears, no matter what ear tips i use. they did pretty dang good on the song quality, but that doesn't matter when they just fall out of my ears!

Typical User Quote (Product B):

i tried all of the little soft tips that came with these (4 sets!) and even mixed n matched them, yet somehow one or the other earbud would fall out after a short while. it was very uncomfortable feeling them slipping all the time. i almost lost the left one at work when it fell out and got under the shelves so, i returned them and ordered a similarly priced pair of the open ear ring-style clip-ons from another brand. i gave these 2 stars because the sound quality was actually quite good. if they had fit, i would have had a chance to try the different functions, and probably would have kept them.

Typical Positive Review:

the sound is clear with deep bass

Product B — B0FNWCYLZN

StrengthMentionsRatioTypeQuote
Sound Quality 42 13.1% feature The sound quality is amazing for the price point — clear audio, strong bass, and loud volume without sounding distorted.
Value for Money 38 11.8% value For $40 these are a steal! Makes no sense to me to spend 7x the money for something that works so well.
Active Noise Cancelling 35 10.9% feature The real-time adaptive noise cancelling works shockingly well for this price tier. Office chatter fades. HVAC and jet engine hums disappear.
Battery Life 28 8.7% feature The battery life is exceptional and I think it beats out my pair of P2i earbuds. I wear the P31i's for hours, listening to music at the highest volume and they haven't died once.
Comfortable Fit 25 7.8% experience They're the most comfortable buds I have ever worn, beating out the more expensive ones by a lot!
App Features & Customization 24 7.5% feature The app is really what sets these above everything else. It does a fit test, then runs an EQ test so that the sound is tailored specifically to your hearing.
Easy Setup & Connectivity 20 6.2% experience These connected easily, without any hassle, and both earbuds worked exactly as they should from the start.
Call Quality 16 5% feature Call clarity was excellent and this is something I am very picky about due to having worked on crisis calls for many years in the past.
Secure Fit / Stay in Ears 15 4.7% experience They stay in my ears perfectly. The Moondrop falls off my ears all the time.
Translation Feature 12 3.7% feature The AI translation was 98% accurate, missing only one or two words but still quite good.
Durability & Build Quality 11 3.4% feature I dropped the left one and it went straight to the bottom of the pool. A few hours later it's dry and to my surprise, it works. 10/10 on these.
Multipoint Connection 9 2.8% feature The fact that it connects simultaneously to your PC and phone is just so convenient.
Waterproof / IP Rating 8 2.5% feature They are waterproof and the language translation is a fun perk that actually works.
Hearing Test / Personalization 7 2.2% feature The very best thing about these is that they have a hearing test that then accommodates for any hearing issues! My left ear has hearing loss, and I finally have ear phones that make up for that!
Transparency Mode 7 2.2% feature The 'transparency' mode lets you talk to others without having to remove the buds.
Touch Controls 6 1.9% feature The earbud touch controls don't start to do crazy things when all you need to do is adjust the fit.
Design & Style 6 1.9% experience The carrying case feels solid and the overall design looks clean and premium.
Brand Reliability 5 1.6% experience I'm a huge fan of Soundcore products. I've never owned a Soundcore product that I haven't liked.
Wind Noise Reduction 4 1.2% feature Very good adaptive noise cancelling with wind noise blocking.
Customer Service 3 0.9% service One of the earbuds seemed to have issues once or twice, but when I contacted the company, they completely took care of me!

Typical Positive Review:

The sound quality is amazing for the price point — clear audio, strong bass, and loud volume without sounding distorted.

8.2 SWOT — Market-Level

▸ Strengths

• Strong demand for real-time translation across 165 languages with no subscription, validated by high counts for translation accuracy and multi-language support.
• Comfortable and secure fit is a key differentiator, with many users praising fit during workouts and for small ears.
• Sound quality and battery life are consistently highlighted as top features, creating a solid baseline for user satisfaction.
• Value for price is a major strength, with users repeatedly comparing favorably to more expensive brands.
• Bluetooth pairing and connection stability are frequently praised, reducing friction for first-time users.
• No subscription required is a unique selling point that directly addresses a major pain point in the translation earbuds market.

▸ Weaknesses

• Real-time translation reliability is inconsistent, with some users reporting the feature does not work as advertised.
• App dependency for translation creates friction and fails when the app does not recognize connected earbuds.
• Touch controls are overly sensitive and cause accidental call hang-ups, a recurring frustration across many reviews.
• Fit stability is a major issue for some users, with earbuds falling out during daily activities and exercise.
• Bluetooth connectivity issues, including drops and pairing failures, undermine the core user experience.
• Translation feature is only available for a limited time without clear disclosure, leading to customer distrust.

▸ Opportunities

• Improve real-time translation reliability and reduce app dependency to capture users who need spontaneous, hands-free communication.
• Offer customizable or physical buttons to eliminate accidental call hang-ups and improve user control.
• Expand ear tip size options and ergonomic designs to accommodate small ears and active users.
• Leverage the no-subscription model as a primary marketing message against competitors with hidden fees.
• Enhance app stability and reduce bloat to improve the overall user experience and app store ratings.
• Target travel, hospitality, and multilingual workplace segments with clear use-case messaging.

▸ Threats

• Competitors offering free translation apps or built-in phone translation reduce the perceived value of dedicated translation earbuds.
• Rapid commoditization of translation earbuds leads to price wars and margin erosion.
• Negative reviews about fit and touch controls can quickly damage brand reputation and deter new buyers.
• Subscription fatigue may cause users to avoid products that hint at future paid features, even if currently free.
• Technological advances in smartphone-based translation could make dedicated earbuds obsolete for casual users.
• Quality control issues, such as earbuds failing within months, erode trust in the entire product category.
