1. Executive Summary

Both products sit at 4.2 / 4.5 on the platform, but taken apart, 128 1-2★ reviews show they fail at the same thing.

B07QGHK6Q8: 54 of 98 negative reviews (55%) point at the same thing — Other issues. “spacebar failed right out of the box. was only taking input 1 out of 3.”

Razer: 15 of 30 negative reviews (50%) point at the same thing — Other issues. “two of the keys stick and have to be pressed repeatedly to register a press: . and 0”

The platform score completely hides this shared weakness — it is a category-level problem, and whoever fixes it first pulls ahead.

1. Both products fail at "Other" (B07QGHK6Q8 55% / Razer 50%)

This is a category-level weakness: competitors are equally exposed here. Whoever fixes it first wins the review structure.

2. "Other" is a grumble-level problem, not a return driver

10 of B07QGHK6Q8's 28 3★ reviews mention "Other" (keyword tagging, auxiliary) — the product works, users are just not satisfied. It drags word of mouth but may not directly cause 1-2★; give return-level problems priority.

3. Second pain point: "Failure" at 18% of B07QGHK6Q8's complaints

18 complaints point at "Failure"; together with the top cause "Other" (55%) they cover 73% of low scores.

Razer Other + Build 21 3.64 → 4.17 23.8% → 7.1%
Method: these negative reviews are removed and the rest of the sample is re-averaged (equivalent to re-scoring them at the mean of the remaining sample). This is the theoretical upper bound if the problem is fully solved, not a promise; actual improvement depends on fix rate and new-review velocity. Negative rates use this sample as the base.
Data boundaries (read first, or the numbers above will be misread)
1. The gap between the platform 4.35 rating and the recalculated 3.04 comes from the sampling strategy — the sample over-samples negative and recent reviews, so its complaint density is higher than the platform overall; all percentages use this sample as the base and do not represent the platform-wide negative rate.
2. 71% of the sample falls in the most recent six months (recent-first scraping), so no time-trend conclusions are drawn.
3. 1-2★ reviews are grouped by physical cause via a rule engine (keyword rules, traceable to individual review IDs); keyword tagging of 3★ reviews is auxiliary only and excluded from conclusions.

Typical User Quote (Product A):

having issues with my space bar a month and a half in. it will either not register space or will double type space for no reason. 0/10 product.

Typical User Quote (Product A):

purchased in may 2026... replaced in august 2026 with a keyboard half the price and already way better. space bar stopped working. i would have to press hard on the space bar to make it work or when it did work normally it was double spacing. nothing dropped on it and overall keyboard is in great shape other than that. too bad, almost all of my peripherals are logitech.

Typical User Quote (Product B):

i do not like that this one is as clicky as mechanical keyboards. i got the previous versions of the ornata specifically because it’s the perfect keyboard and was quieter while typing… this version’s clicks are super loud.

Typical User Quote (Product B):

the original ortana chroma was better than this. each key was customizable instead of this it’s only in sections. the wrist rest is also much lower quality and is not comfortable. i wish the ortana wasn’t discontinued, it was the same price. update. it broke within a week and the replacement is also broken. these metal clips are falling out everywhere

8.2 SWOT — Market-Level

▸ Strengths

• Logitech G213 has strong brand recognition and a large base of positive reviews praising RGB lighting, build quality, and comfortable typing.
• Razer Ornata V3 offers a satisfying clicky sound and low-profile key design that many users find comfortable for long sessions.
• Both products include wrist rests and media controls, which are valued by gamers and typists.
• Logitech G213 is praised for its spill-resistant design and responsive keys, appealing to users concerned about durability.
• Razer Ornata V3's magnetic wrist rest and RGB customization are frequently highlighted as standout features.
• Both keyboards are positioned as budget-friendly options, with many reviewers noting good value for the price.

▸ Weaknesses

• Logitech G213 has widespread reports of keys double typing, keys stopping working, and spacebar failures, indicating poor long-term reliability.
• Razer Ornata V3 suffers from keycaps breaking, keys sticking, and poor anti-ghosting, undermining its gaming performance claims.
• Both products have software issues: Logitech G Hub fails to load for some users, while Razer Synapse loses profiles and requires large downloads.
• Logitech G213's non-removable palm rest and bulky design frustrate users with limited desk space.
• Razer Ornata V3's keycaps are fragile and not replaceable, leading to frustration when keys break.
• Both keyboards face criticism for misleading marketing—Logitech's 'mech-dome' naming implies mechanical switches, and Razer's gaming claims are undermined by key rollover limitations.

▸ Opportunities

• Growing demand for budget gaming keyboards with RGB lighting and media controls creates room for improved reliability-focused models.
• Competitors' mechanical keyboards at similar price points are vulnerable if Logitech or Razer address membrane durability issues.
• Expanding into hot-swappable or easily replaceable keycaps could attract users frustrated by broken keys.
• Improving software stability and reducing bloatware could win back users who abandoned these brands due to software failures.
• Offering detachable wrist rests and more compact designs would appeal to users with limited desk space.
• Targeting the growing market of hybrid work/gaming setups with quieter, low-profile options could differentiate these products.

▸ Threats

• Rising popularity of budget mechanical keyboards from brands like Redragon and Keychron threatens membrane-based gaming keyboards.
• Negative reviews about key failures and poor customer support are eroding trust in both Logitech and Razer.
• Increasing consumer expectations for NKRO and anti-ghosting in gaming keyboards make membrane designs less competitive.
• Software bloat and privacy concerns around mandatory apps like G Hub and Synapse may drive users to driverless alternatives.
• Price competition from Chinese manufacturers offering hot-swappable mechanical keyboards at lower prices pressures margins.
• Social media amplification of reliability complaints could accelerate brand switching among gamers.
